PLANKRACE
Your data. You keep it. You own it.
On your phone
Your plank times, sets, pauses, holds and history are kept on your iPhone. They are never sent to us.
If you join Teams
Teams is optional. If you use it, plankrace.com keeps only:
- the nickname you choose (no email, no real name, no password);
- a scrambled copy of your phone's sign-in key and of your recovery code, so the server can recognise them without being able to read them;
- which teams you're in, who is captain, and invitations waiting for an answer;
- for each of the last 12 weeks: seconds improved on your own baseline, your streak, and days completed;
- the day your account was last used, so unused accounts can be removed.
Only your teammates see your numbers. A team appears on the team ladder only if its captain switches that on, and then only its name, size and score are shown.
What we never collect
- Plank times, dates, health or location data.
- Email addresses, phone numbers or contacts. Invites happen inside the app, by nickname or team code.
- Advertising IDs, analytics or tracking. There are no ads.
- IP addresses. To stop abuse, we keep a scrambled code for repeated tries that can't be turned back into an address, and delete it within 24 hours.
Where it's kept
Team data is kept on two servers in Australia: the main one at plankrace.com and a backup copy at plankrace.com.au, which takes over if the main is down. Both are reached through Cloudflare, which protects them from attacks and so handles the connection between your phone and the server.
Deleting
In the app, go to Race > Teams > Delete. Your team account and everything linked to it is deleted from plankrace.com straight away, and from the backup within 5 minutes. Deleting the app removes everything on your phone.
Because we hold no email address, we can't warn you before removing an unused account, so we remove it automatically:
- after 30 days without use, if it isn't in a team;
- after 2 years without use, in any case.
If you lose your phone, your nickname and recovery code move your account to a new one. Keep the recovery code somewhere safe: without it, nobody, including us, can get the account back.
